Sometimes the answers just can’t be found in a textbook. That’s why IFSI is offering this unique learning opportunity called Ask the Expert. Fellow firefighters, rescue personnel, instructors, and industry professionals join in a group chat tailored around a topic specific to the emergency services. Find out how to solve a problem, find a piece of equipment or learn more about a hands on approach to the hot topics of today.

All you have to do is check the schedule on the IFSI web page and join in the chat. Remember, the worst question is the one never asked. This is your opportunity to ask and learn.

Don Hayde

Structural Fire Attack

Battalion Chief Don Hayde of the New York City Fire Department will be the next scheduled guest for a training chat. Battalion Chief Hayde is currently working with Special Operations Command of FDNY he is a 27-year member of the department, where he has been assigned to Ladder and Squad Companies. Don has also offers his service to the volunteer firefighting ranks for 33 years on Long Island.

Chief Hayde will be offering a chat on March 25, 2004, at 7:00pm. Battalion Chief Hayde will share his knowledge on Structural Fire Attack: A systematic approach. Participants can exchange information on

  • Initial fire attack
  • Ventilation practices
  • Rapid victim search
